Chinese Embassy Celebrates Spring Festival

Diplomats, government ministers, legislators, businessmen and ordinary Zimbabweans gathered at the Chinese embassy in Harare to celebrate the Chinese Spring Festival.

The Chinese Spring Festival is a family and feasting time in China. It is dedicated to spending time with family, enjoying the good times and family reunion.

An exhibition, food fair with various Chinese cuisine and cultural performances among other things marked the big celebration in the capital.

In his address at the occasion, Chinese ambassador to Zimbabwe Mr Huang Ping reflected his country’s achievements in the past year as well as those in Zimbabwe where a peaceful transition took place.

He spoke of the forthcoming FOCAC summit in China and impending state visit by President Emmerson Mnangagwa to the Asian economic giant.

The exhibition showed some of the products that Chinese companies are buying and selling in Zimbabwe like tobacco, telecommunications products, toys and cement.

Some of the projects that they built were also listed like the Peacock Hotel in Mutare and the Chinese locally-assembled vehicles’ in Harare.
