The Diplomacy Appreciation Trust (DAT) will end of this month officially launch the Diplomat Business Networking Club, an exclusive social and business networking initiative that connects diplomats, business leaders, government officials, investors and the influential members of the society.
Speaking to the Diplomat, DAT Chairperson, Anorah Sibanda said all ground work have been done and the Diplomat Business Networking Club will be officially launched on 28 May 2021.
“After conceiving the idea early this year, we have held wide consultations with key stakeholders on their needs and expectations. We are really overwhelmed by the responses and endorsements the club is receiving. It is our strong belief that the social and business club will fill the gaps and strengthen relations between the diplomats and influential members of the Zimbabwean society,” said Sibanda.
The Diplomat Business Networking Club will organise high profile networking events like dinners, luncheons, seminars and conferences. It will also partner sport, cultural and charity organisations.
“The Network will create programs and activities with interesting topics, strong networking power and B2B connections for our members. We strongly believe in building networks and partnerships that will pave way for the implementation of sustainable development and national goals
She said the Club is a membership-based, by-invitation only organisation with three membership categories, Diplomatic, Corporate and Associate.
“The club offers complimentary membership to Ambassadors, heads of UN Missions and senior representatives of International development agencies. All members of the diplomatic community and international organisations fall in this category.
“The second membership category is Corporate which is open to businesses and corporate leaders. The final category is Associate Members which is open to distinguished and eminent personalities across all sectors. Though our membership is exclusive our output will be inclusive,” explained Sibanda.
She said the Diplomat Business Networking Club is one of the many platforms that will be launched by DAT in the next three years. DAT was formed in July 2014 at Alliance Francaise in Harare, Zimbabwe. It is a voluntary, non-profit, non-political and independent international organization that respects the diversity of creed, race, culture and tradition.
Over the Years DAT has successfully hosted the Diplomat of the Awards and organised luncheons for members of the diplomatic community
“DAT envisions a world that appreciates diplomacy as the best way to address our challenges and build mutual understanding; a world that promotes good governance; a world where diplomats, citizens and governments regardless of their divergent views, beliefs, interest, race or colour work together for the good of mankind and development of the world.
“We arrange various events and programs that celebrate and promote all forms of diplomacy and sustainable development efforts. We also provide platforms for interaction between Diplomats, people of host nations and governments. DAT coordinate projects that empowers communities through information, knowledge and resource sharing with other nations. The Diplomat Business Networking Club fulfils most of these objectives,” spelled out Sibanda.
