The 10th edition of the Diplomat of the year awards was successfully held on Wednesday 7 December 2022 at the Royal Harare Golf Club.
Speaking on the sidelines of the breakfast and ceremony, Diplomat of the year Awards founder Reginald Chapfunga said, “We are really excited about the success of this year’s edition of the awards. Running under the theme, a decade of service, we are celebrating 10 years since the establishment of the awards and amplifying the call for the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals.”
Chapfunga added that, instead of focusing on the diplomats only as usual, this year, the Awards honoured seven organisations that have impacted positively on the lives of Zimbabweans, especially the marginalized groups.
“Initiatives by the winning institutions have improved the quality of life for citizens through improved health care, gender equality, youth engagement and civic organisation, community based renewable power solutions and sustainable waste management, among other initiatives,” he said.
Organisations awarded in addition to 10 ambassadors included Saywhat, Population Solutions for Health, Mobility for Africa, Zimbabwe Sunshine Group, Mashambanzou Care Trust and 4-H. Below are some highlights of the event.
The event is organized by the Diplomat in partnership with the Diplomat Business Networking Club.
